CCPA Notice
Last updated: January 1, 2026
This CCPA Notice explains how the California Consumer Privacy Act ("CCPA"), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act ("CPRA"), applies to your interactions with PublicAutoQuotes. For our complete California disclosures (categories collected, sources, recipients, retention periods), see our California Privacy Rights notice and our overall Privacy Policy.
Who this applies to
This notice applies to California residents only. Residents of other states with similar privacy laws (CO, CT, VA, UT, OR, TX, etc.) have comparable rights — contact us using the methods below to exercise them.
Your CCPA rights at a glance
- Right to know — what personal information we have collected, used, disclosed, sold or shared about you in the prior 12 months.
- Right to access — receive a copy of the specific pieces of personal information we hold about you.
- Right to delete — request that we delete personal information we collected from you, subject to legal exceptions.
- Right to correct — request that we correct inaccurate personal information about you.
- Right to opt out of sale or sharing — direct us not to sell or share your personal information with third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising or their direct marketing.
- Right to limit use of sensitive personal information — does not currently apply because we use sensitive information only to provide the quote services you request.
- Right to non-discrimination — we will not deny services, charge you a different price, or provide a different level of service because you exercised your CCPA rights.
How to exercise your rights
You can submit a verifiable consumer request three ways:
- Use our Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information form (preferred — fastest processing).
- Call us at +1 (817) 910-6032.
- Email info@publicautoquote.com with the subject line "CCPA Request".
Verification
We will need to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests. Verification typically involves matching at least two pieces of information you provide to information already in our records (such as name, email, phone, or recent quote details).
Authorized agents
You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf. We may require written authorization signed by you and may need to verify the agent's identity.
Response time
We will confirm receipt of your request within 10 business days and respond within 45 calendar days, with a possible 45-day extension if reasonably necessary. Opt-out requests are processed within 15 business days.
Categories of information sold or shared
While PublicAutoQuotes does not exchange personal information for monetary consideration, our practice of sharing information with marketing partners for their direct-marketing purposes may constitute a "sale" or "share" under the CCPA. The categories that may be sold or shared are:
- Identifiers (name, contact info, IP address)
- Customer records (insurance and vehicle information)
- Internet/electronic activity
- Geolocation (approximate, from ZIP)
- Inferences drawn from the above
See our Marketing Partners page for the list of partner categories that may receive this information. We do not knowingly sell or share the information of consumers under 16.
Global Privacy Control (GPC)
We honor browser-level Global Privacy Control signals as opt-out requests for the browser/device on which the signal is sent. To opt out across all of your devices, submit a request via the Do Not Sell form so we can apply the opt-out to your identifying information.
