Privacy Policy

Last updated: January 1, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how PublicAutoQuotes ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information about you when you visit our website, request a quote, or otherwise interact with our services. By using our site you agree to this policy.

1. Who we are

PublicAutoQuotes is a marketing and lead-referral service that connects consumers with licensed insurance agents and underwriting carriers. We are not an insurance carrier. Quotes and policies are issued by our partner agents and carriers.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Information you provide

  • Identifiers: name, email, phone number, mailing address, date of birth.
  • Quote information: vehicle year/make/model, usage, mileage, driving history (tickets, accidents, DUIs), current insurance status and carrier, gender, and marital status.
  • Communications: the content of messages you send us and recordings of calls (where permitted by law).

2.2 Information collected automatically

  • IP address, device type, browser, operating system.
  • Pages visited, referring URL, timestamps.
  • Cookie identifiers and similar tracking technologies.

2.3 Information from third parties

We may receive supplementary information about you from data providers, public records, marketing partners, and our agent partners (for example, eligibility, prior quotes, or underwriting reports).

3. How we use your information

  • To prepare and present quotes and connect you with licensed agents.
  • To contact you about your request by phone, SMS, email, or automated dialing system, including with prerecorded messages — see Section 5 for your TCPA consent details.
  • To verify your identity and prevent fraud or abuse.
  • To improve, secure, and analyze our services.
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

4. How we share your information

We share the minimum information necessary to deliver the services you request:

  • Marketing & agent partners: we share your information with the licensed insurance agents, brokers, carriers, aggregators, and lead buyers listed on our Marketing Partners page so they can prepare and present quotes.
  • Service providers: hosting, analytics, communications (email/SMS), and fraud-prevention vendors that act on our behalf.
  • Legal & safety: when required by law, to investigate fraud, or to protect rights, property, or safety.
  • Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

We do not sell your personal information for monetary consideration. However, sharing your information with marketing partners for cross-context behavioral advertising or for their own direct-marketing purposes may constitute a "sale" or "share" under California law. California residents may opt out — see our Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page.

5. TCPA consent & communications

By submitting your information through our quote forms, you expressly consent to be contacted by PublicAutoQuotes and our marketing partners at the phone number and email address you provided, including by autodialer, prerecorded voice, artificial voice, ringless voicemail, and SMS — even if your number is on a federal or state Do Not Call list. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Standard message and data rates may apply. You may opt out at any time by replying STOP to text messages, asking the caller to stop, or emailing info@publicautoquote.com.

6. Cookies and tracking

We use first-party and third-party cookies to operate the site, analyze traffic, and measure marketing campaigns. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect site functionality.

7. Data retention

We retain your information for as long as needed to provide the services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Quote inquiries are typically retained for 5 years.

8. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

9. Children

Our services are not directed to anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us so we can delete it.

10. Your rights

Depending on your state, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, and to opt out of certain sharing. California residents see our California Privacy Rights page for more information.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the latest version. Material changes will be posted on this page.
